Gusto is seeking an experienced Workday Developer (L4 level) to lead the design, configuration, and optimization of Workday solutions powering HR and payroll processes. This is a senior individual contributor role with significant scope and mentorship responsibilities.
You will lead configuration of Workday modules including Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking, HCM, Talent, and Compensation on complex business requirements. You'll architect and guide development of Workday Business Processes, calculated fields, condition rules, and security roles, exercising independent judgment on new assignments. You'll evaluate and drive adoption of new Workday features with each release, identifying creative solutions and guiding policy development.
Reporting and analytics are core responsibilities: you'll develop advanced, matrix, composite, and dashboard reports in Workday; drive data quality and integrity standards across Workday and connected systems; and own audit readiness through proactive reporting, documentation, and control frameworks.
You'll design and lead test strategies including test plans, scripts, and UAT coordination for biannual Workday releases, determining procedures and guiding team approach to ensure quality and business continuity.
Collaboration is essential. You'll network across functions, adapt communication to diverse audiences, and frequently advise senior partners on complex Workday matters. You'll provide expert-level system support, independently diagnosing and resolving complex issues, and mentor team members and key users on Workday functionality, serving as an internal subject matter authority.
