CesiumAstro is seeking a Wire Harness Design Engineer II to join their aerospace and satellite communications team in Austin. This role focuses on designing critical power, digital, analog, and RF interconnects for satellites, spacecraft, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. You will take full ownership of wire harness designs throughout the complete lifecycle, from initial specifications through integration and test. Responsibilities include schematic development, cable routing, connector selection, and creation of harness assembly drawings. The position emphasizes hands-on, collaborative work in a dynamic startup environment. Key aspects of the role: - Design and develop interconnect systems that integrate multiple subsystems into cohesive platforms - Participate in design reviews, providing technical expertise and recommendations to enhance performance and reliability - Work shoulder-to-shoulder with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and harness assembly technicians - Own the full design process from concept through validation - Contribute to cutting-edge space and airborne system development The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional environment and be passionate about aerospace hardware development. This is a hands-on role with significant autonomy and the opportunity to directly impact mission-critical systems.
