HallPass Candy, part of the Medici Brands portfolio (alongside David), is building next-generation candy with reduced calories at the same price point. The company recently launched nationwide at Walmart and is scaling rapidly under leadership from Peter Rahal (former CEO of RXBAR) and Michael Tierney (former CEO of Stuffed Puffs).
You will own the physical movement of HallPass product across three critical legs of the supply network: inbound materials from suppliers to co-manufacturers, finished goods from co-manufacturers to 3PL warehouses, and outbound orders from 3PLs to retail customers and distributors. This is a builder role—the network is live and scaling post-Walmart launch, with many processes still being established. You'll set standards, hold partners accountable, and ensure product arrives in the right place, on time, and in retailer-compliant condition.
Key responsibilities include managing inbound freight for ingredients and packaging, coordinating with supply chain planning to align deliveries with production schedules, and maintaining visibility of raw material and packaging inventory at co-manufacturing sites. You'll reconcile receipts, usage, and yield against production output, and investigate variances and shrink.
For finished goods, you'll schedule transfers from co-manufacturers to 3PL warehouses, ensure accurate lot and date code capture, manage temperature-controlled storage and shipping for heat-sensitive product, and oversee 3PL performance on receiving accuracy, inventory accuracy, storage conditions, and food safety requirements (SQF/AIB audits, pest control, allergen segregation).
On the outbound side, you'll own order execution to retail customers and distributors, including appointment scheduling, routing guide compliance, pallet and labeling specs, and ASN accuracy. You'll drive retailer compliance performance (OTIF and fill rate), own freight mode strategy across FTL, LTL, consolidation, and customer pickup programs, manage compliance chargebacks and deductions, and handle freight damage and loss claims.
You'll also own inventory reconciliation across all locations, enforce FEFO rotation and retailer shelf life minimums, lead cycle counts, partner with Finance on month-end close and material variance reporting, and maintain lot traceability and recall readiness. You'll build and own KPI reporting (freight cost per case, warehousing cost per pallet, OTIF, inventory accuracy, chargeback rate, claims recovery), audit 3PL and carrier invoices, and build and manage the annual freight and warehousing budget. You'll plan capacity and execution for seasonal peaks (Halloween, Valentine's Day, Easter), write SOPs and SLAs with partners, improve EDI and systems integration, and lead evaluation and onboarding of new warehouses, carriers, and logistics partners as the network expands.
Requirements:
- 5+ years in warehousing, distribution, or logistics at a CPG brand, ideally food or confectionery
- Direct experience managing 3PLs and carriers with a track record of holding partners to SLAs
- Experience managing owned inventory at contract manufacturers under toll or toll-plus arrangements
- Hands-on experience with major retailer supply chain programs; Walmart experience strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of EDI (850, 856, 810), routing guides, and retailer compliance requirements
- Experience managing temperature-sensitive or food-grade product
- Proven results reducing chargebacks, recovering freight claims, or cutting logistics cost
- Strong with data and spreadsheets; comfortable building reporting from scratch
- Clear, direct communicator with external partners and internal teams
- Bias toward action; you fix problems at the root, not just the symptom
