Peregrine Technologies, backed by leading Silicon Valley investors, is an AI-enabled platform serving public safety organizations, state and local governments, federal agencies, and private-sector institutions. The company transforms siloed data into operational intelligence and currently supports hundreds of customers across 30+ states and two countries, serving over 125 million people. As VP of Financial Planning & Analysis, you will build the financial engine driving Peregrine's next growth phase. You'll own the long-range financial model, annual operating plan, forecasting processes, and analysis supporting major investment decisions. Reporting to the CFO, you'll partner closely with the Controller and business leaders across the organization. Key responsibilities include: building and evolving a multi-year driver-based financial model; designing and leading the company-wide annual operating plan with department heads; establishing monthly budget-versus-actuals cadence with variance analysis; building forecasting methodology for a multi-segment go-to-market (public-sector and commercial); developing unit economics views across product lines and segments (gross margin, FDE costs, infrastructure costs, CAC, payback, NDR); building financial cases for major strategic bets (new segments, product lines, international expansion, pricing changes); owning financial reporting and narrative for CFO, executive team, Board, and investors; and hiring and developing the FP&A team with an AI-native approach to automate lower-level work. You bring 12+ years of progressive finance experience, including an analytical foundation at an investment bank, private equity firm, or top-tier consulting firm, followed by strategic finance or FP&A leadership at a high-growth technology company. You've owned company-wide annual planning cycles, demonstrated exceptional financial modeling and data fluency (comfortable with SQL or equivalent), and understand complex revenue models spanning subscription, consumption, and professional services. You're AI-native with examples of eliminating recurring manual work, excel at executive communication for CEO and Board-level discussions, and have proven ability to recruit, manage, and develop quantitative talent. Experience with government contracting, regulated environments, long procurement cycles, or international expansion is a plus. The role requires 4 days/week in the San Francisco office.
