Vercel is seeking an FP&A Manager, Product to serve as the financial lead for the Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) organizations. This role owns operational expense and headcount planning while building scalable financial systems that improve visibility and enable better decision-making across the company. Key responsibilities include managing the product investment envelope by overseeing OpEx and headcount budgets across EPD, ensuring investments align with company strategy while maintaining disciplined spend and margin targets. You will drive rigorous workforce planning across technical and corporate teams by building bottoms-up headcount models by function and level, partnering with engineering leaders to sequence hiring against roadmap needs and operational scale. You'll model infrastructure and internal systems economics by developing clear forecasting models for cloud hosting, AI/compute, internal tooling, SaaS applications, and enterprise systems, identifying optimization opportunities across both product infrastructure and corporate tech stack. The role requires translating roadmap and corporate priorities into financial tradeoffs, evaluating build vs. buy decisions, capitalizable vs. expensed R&D, and vendor investments across EPD with clear ROI-grounded recommendations. Additionally, you'll elevate budget vs. actuals rigor across the organization by leading monthly BvA reviews for EPD, automating reporting, improving accrual accuracy, and surfacing actionable insights. You'll design scalable financial controls by implementing approval workflows for headcount, vendor spend, and enterprise tooling that are disciplined, fast, and transparent, using automation and AI to reduce manual review and eliminate bottlenecks. Ideal candidates have proven experience partnering with engineering leaders and supporting technical teams, fluency in infrastructure and SaaS cost drivers including cloud economics and AI/compute scaling, strong workforce planning capabilities across multiple departments, advanced financial modeling skills with scenario analysis, and a precision-focused, systems-oriented approach to eliminating forecasting blind spots and building scalable processes.
