Co-own long-range strategic planning and shape financial strategy. Identify financial and operational levers driving sustainable growth. Own annual planning and quarterly forecasting with driver-based financial models. Lead scenario analysis and sensitivity modeling. Translate financial data into actionable insights for executives and the Board. **Accounting & Controls:** Oversee monthly close, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and financial statement preparation. Maintain and strengthen internal controls for US GAAP compliance and audit readiness. Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors. **Board & Investor Reporting:** Prepare board-level financial packages and investor updates. Support fundraising, debt financing, and M&A diligence. Develop financial narratives for investors backed by robust SaaS metrics. **Business Partnering:** Work closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and People leaders to drive financial accountability. Own financial metrics and performance analyses. Support revenue operations, pricing strategy, and go-to-market planning. **Team & Systems Leadership:** Lead, mentor, and scale the finance team (FP&A, accounting, revenue operations). Drive selection and optimization of financial systems (ERP, FP&A platforms, billing infrastructure). Build scalable, automated processes supporting rapid growth and public-company readiness. Champion AI and modern technology adoption—embedding automation, AI-assisted analysis, and intelligent workflows into finance operations. Set the standard for technology fluency and encourage experimentation with tools like Claude for modeling, reporting, and documentation. Teleport emphasizes that using best-available tools and systems is core to how the company operates. All team members actively adopt modern technology to move faster, think harder, and produce higher-quality work. **Requirements:** - 18+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with significant time as VP of Finance, CFO, or equivalent senior finance executive - Proven success at a high-growth B2B Cybersecurity, SaaS, or infrastructure technology company in Series D/E/F stages with over $200M in ARR - Strong command of GAAP accounting, SaaS financial metrics, financial controls, and audit processes - Demonstrated experience supporting a company through key inflection points (Series C+, late-stage private, or IPO preparation) - Outstanding communication skills—able to present complex financial matters to executive teams, boards, and investors with confidence and clarity - Proven ability to build and lead high-performing, geographically distributed finance teams - Hands-on experience evaluating, selecting, and scaling financial systems (NetSuite, Workday, Adaptive Insights, or comparable platforms) - Collaborative, data-driven decision-maker who thrives in a fast-moving, distributed environment - Ability to be in-person in Oakland HQ a few times per week for executive team collaboration **Nice to Have:** - CPA, CFA, or MBA from a leading program - Experience taking a company through late-stage private funding and IPO - Open-source or developer-tools background
