ClearGov is building the modern financial operating layer for the public sector, helping US local governments and school districts plan, budget, report, and communicate their finances. The company serves over 2,000 public sector organizations and is scaling its platform and reach.
This is a hands-on Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis role reporting to the CFO. This is not a purely oversight position—the VP, FP&A will be directly involved in building and stress-testing financial models, translating numbers into actionable decisions, and partnering with executive leadership and business unit owners. The role plays a central part in the company's next chapter of growth.
Key responsibilities include owning enterprise-wide planning, forecasting, and performance analytics for a growth-stage SaaS business. The successful candidate will be comfortable working inside the mechanics of financial models while also presenting outputs to the CFO and board. This person will prioritize competing asks from leadership and translate complex financial analysis into clear strategic guidance.
The role requires someone who wants to build, not just review—equally comfortable in deep model work and executive-level communication.
**Requirements:**
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including FP&A leadership, with a demonstrated track record of being hands-on in financial modeling (not several layers removed from the work)
- Direct experience in a SaaS or recurring-revenue business, with fluency in ARR, NRR, churn, cohort, and unit economics analysis
- Strong financial modeling and scenario-planning skills; ability to build complex models from scratch and pressure-test assumptions in real time
- Exposure to an exit, sale process, recapitalization, refinancing, or similar transaction, with working knowledge of what "diligence-ready" means
- Executive presence; ability to move fluidly between deep model work and clear, confident presentation to the CFO and board
- Strong judgment about prioritization and urgency across competing demands
**Nice-to-haves:**
- M&A diligence or post-acquisition integration experience
- CPA, CFA, or MBA
- Prior experience building or scaling an FP&A function from a less mature state
