Salary: USD 171,495 - 192,932 / annual
BillionToOne is a publicly traded molecular diagnostics company (Nasdaq) focused on transforming prenatal and cancer diagnostics through cutting-edge science. The Senior Stock Plan Administrator will own day-to-day administration of the company's equity compensation program, serving as the operational hub for all equity-related activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Equity Administration & Operations: Maintain accurate equity data and records within equity administration systems; manage end-to-end processing of equity transactions (grants, vesting, releases, exercises, cancellations); coordinate Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) enrollment and purchase cycles with Payroll and Fidelity.
Compliance & Reporting: Maintain and reconcile equity share pool balances with the transfer agent; assist with equity plan setup, maintenance, and governance; prepare and review month-end journal entries; support period-end close activities including stock-based compensation (SBC) accounting under ASC 718; ensure year-end tax reporting compliance; maintain audit-ready documentation.
Collaboration: Partner with Legal, Payroll, Accounting, and People Operations teams to ensure accurate and timely execution of equity processes; assist Payroll with equity reporting and tax compliance; respond to employee inquiries regarding equity awards, vesting, exercises, and taxation.
Audit & SOX Compliance: Maintain SOX control documentation and perform internal controls documentation; respond to auditor requests in a timely manner.
Process Improvement: Document processes and SOX narratives; identify opportunities to enhance equity processes and systems through integration, automation, improved controls, and workflow changes.
The role reports to the Company's Controller and requires close collaboration across Finance, Legal, HR, and external service providers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting preferred)
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in equity compensation within a public company
- In-depth knowledge of equity platforms such as Fidelity Plan Sponsor Webstation or equivalent systems, managing platform processes end-to-end
- Strong understanding and experience with multiple types of equity (ISOs, NSOs, RSUs, ESPP) and related compliance, tax, and reporting requirements
- Strong experience supporting internal/external audits and ensuring compliance with SOX and ASC 718
- Experience managing complex reconciliations, close processes, and equity-related financial reporting
- Strong organization, analysis, and communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- CEP certification or progress toward certification is a plus
