Neara uses advanced machine learning to create physics-enabled digital twins of electricity grids across four continents, helping utilities understand infrastructure challenges and build resilient energy systems. The VP, Deployment role owns the end-to-end engine that transforms a customer's real-world network into an accurate, trusted digital twin—faster, more predictably, and more automatically each quarter.
This is an execution-focused role reporting directly to the CEO. You will own Neara's global model-build engine, including model build, QA and CS-defined deployment processes, contractor partner management, and deployment operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Own the complete deployment engine end-to-end across all regions and customer types
- Standardise and automate model build and deployment processes, progressively turning bespoke solutions into simple, repeatable protocols
- Own delivery economics and KPIs: cost per deployment, contractor spend, utilisation, margin, cycle time, on-time rate, and quality metrics
- Maintain consistent digital-twin quality and velocity across a standardised delivery playbook
- Build and lead global teams across Australia, US, EU, and India, developing regional leaders who operate autonomously within a unified framework
- Manage portfolio prioritisation, capacity allocation across internal teams and contractors, and delivery risk
- Partner closely with Digitisation, Engineering, Customer Success, and Product teams
This is not a program management, stakeholder coordination, customer success, or sales role. You will not own customer relationships or revenue, but you will own the economics of how delivery runs. You must be hands-on and technically credible, able to work through model builds alongside teams, weigh quality and scope tradeoffs, and hold standards independently.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years leading delivery or implementation functions, with at least 3 years at VP or equivalent level in a global SaaS business
- Technically credible in complex delivery with background in deep-technology or complex enterprise SaaS (engineering-led, data-heavy, or physically modelled products)
- Proven track record leading delivery at scale in enterprise SaaS, ideally having built or substantially rebuilt a delivery model
- Experience leading global delivery teams across regions and timezones (direct experience across AU, US, EU, and India preferred)
- Deep familiarity with US enterprise customer dynamics and large, complex US project environments
- Strong delivery economics and operational judgment: utilisation, margin, capacity planning, contractor cost structures
- Experience managing third-party contractors and delivery partners at scale, owning vendor performance
- Familiarity with utility, energy, or heavy infrastructure customers is an advantage
- Active user of AI tooling in your own workflow with demonstrated impact on delivery efficiency or forecasting
- Based in Sydney, Australia; willing to travel internationally including regular US travel
