Radiant is a nuclear technology startup based in El Segundo, California, building the world's first mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors. The company's flagship product, Kaleidos, is a 1-megawatt, fail-safe microreactor designed for rapid deployment to hospitals, data centers, remote sites, and military bases. Founded in 2020, Radiant is preparing to test its first reactor at Idaho National Laboratory and plans initial customer deliveries in 2028. The VP of Business Development will report to the Chief Commercial Officer and lead the company's commercial pipeline development. This is a fundamentally sales-driven role focused on originating B2B deals with Fortune 500 companies across commercial verticals. The successful candidate will independently identify and qualify potential customers, lead conversations from first contact through discovery and proposal, and drive negotiations toward binding agreements. Key responsibilities include sourcing and qualifying leads nationally (not regionally), originating client conversations independently, supporting executive leadership in commercial negotiations, building and maintaining a high-quality pipeline, developing tailored proposals, and learning the technical fundamentals of the product, siting, licensing, and utility energy markets to speak credibly with customers. The ideal candidate brings 7-10+ years of business development, sales, or related commercial experience with a proven track record of sourcing national opportunities without warm leads. A bachelor's degree is required. Additional strengths include experience selling complex hardware or infrastructure with long deal timelines, management consulting background paired with execution experience, genuine competitive drive, and passion for nuclear energy's role in decarbonization. This is a 100% onsite role at El Segundo headquarters (not negotiable) requiring willingness to travel 2-3 times monthly for conferences and customer meetings, and flexibility to work extended hours as needed. US citizenship or green card status is required due to export control compliance.
