Buena is Germany's third-largest property manager, built in just two years with a lean 25-person HQ team. The company acquires property management companies across Germany and scales them using proprietary software, currently managing 70,000+ units across 12 locations and 25+ acquired companies.
As VP Associate, you will be the operational problem-solver for the VP of Property Management, handling the company's most complex and high-impact challenges. Your responsibilities span financial analysis, integration execution, revenue development, and cross-functional project ownership.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct financial analysis on acquisition targets: analyze P&Ls, model unit economics, and support due diligence for new portfolio companies, ensuring you understand every cost driver before deal closure.
- Drive ground-level integration: work directly with site leads to migrate portfolio companies onto Buena's platform, standardize processes, identify and fix operational inefficiencies, and improve margins from baseline (often 5%) to target (35%+).
- Identify and evaluate new revenue streams: assess adjacent business opportunities in insurance, brokerage, energy, and others; build financial models to determine viability and support launch decisions for approved initiatives.
- Own end-to-end projects: take full ownership of regulatory compliance initiatives, portfolio company recruiting, operational firefighting, and any cross-functional work that matters to the business.
This role offers direct access to the leadership team, rapid career progression (Buena is building senior leadership positions in Banking, Insurance, and Brokerage as it scales), and hands-on expertise in real estate and business operations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Fluent German (C2 level or native speaker); this is a German-language operating environment.
- Based in Berlin with willingness to travel regularly to portfolio companies across Germany.
- Professional experience in consulting, operations, finance, or a startup environment.
- Comfort with P&Ls, financial modeling, and working under pressure.
- High ownership mentality; self-directed problem-solving.
- Bonus: property management or real estate background, post-merger integration experience, or familiarity with software rollouts.
