Veeam Software is seeking a Virtualization Backup Engineer with Italian language proficiency to join its Technical Customer Support team in Bucharest. This role provides technical support for Veeam Backup and Replication (VBR), a leading data resilience and backup verification solution.
You will serve as a trusted technical focal point for IT professionals, providing comprehensive troubleshooting and support for backup and replication issues. Your responsibilities include performing detailed troubleshooting and log file analysis, investigating issues across Veeam products and third-party components (Microsoft, VMware), determining root causes (defects, misconfigurations, or known issues), implementing fixes, and educating customers on resolution processes.
Key responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and analyze technical issues, including detailed log file investigation
- Own customer problems from case initiation through resolution
- Diagnose issues in Veeam software and third-party integrations (Microsoft, VMware)
- Distinguish between product defects, misconfigurations, and known issues
- Implement break/fix solutions and provide customer education
- Document all interactions accurately in CRM tools within SLA requirements
- Act as technical liaison between customers and internal teams
Required qualifications:
- Fluent in Italian and English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Advanced user or administrative knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022/2025) and Windows 10/11
- Practical TCP/IP knowledge including OS, firewall configuration, and network troubleshooting (NAT, ports, DHCP, DNS)
- Strong ability to learn, understand, and explain technical concepts
- Ownership mentality for resolving customer issues
- Excellent time management and ability to work in fast-paced environments
Desirable skills:
- UNIX/Linux knowledge
- VMware ESXi experience
- Microsoft Hyper-V administration
- Microsoft Exchange Server administration
- Database engine experience (SQL, Oracle)
