The company has onboarded hundreds of thousands of members since 2016 and operates on a 100% pass-through, transparent business model focused on delivering lowest net cost and highest clinical value to clients. As Vice President of Trade Relations & Formulary Strategy, you will lead the manufacturer-facing side of SmithRx's supply chain and report to executive leadership. This is a critical executive role with responsibility for enterprise rebate strategy, formulary management, and clinical criteria design. Trade Relations & Manufacturer Strategy: You will establish and maintain strategic relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, leading negotiations for rebates, discounts, and value-based contracts aligned with SmithRx's financial objectives and transparency commitment. You'll oversee Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) partnerships and administration, ensuring compliance and financial accuracy. You'll monitor pharmaceutical market dynamics, generic pipelines, and biosimilar launches to position SmithRx's strategies ahead of market shifts. You'll provide executive oversight for rebate financial modeling, market assessments, and guarantee development in partnership with Pricing and Underwriting teams. Formulary Strategy & Management: You'll serve as executive owner of SmithRx's formulary strategy, ensuring recommendations are grounded in clinical evidence, market intelligence, and lowest-net-cost financial modeling. You'll lead and oversee the Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) / Formulary Advisory Committee, setting governance and documentation standards. You'll partner with Sales and Customer Success to articulate clinical and financial value to prospective clients and benefits consultants. Experience with formulary management and utilization management across government programs (Medicare and Medicaid) is required. Clinical Criteria Strategy & Management: You'll direct development and deployment of clinical criteria for Prior Authorizations, Step Therapy, and Quantity Limits to ensure appropriate utilization and optimize patient outcomes. You'll ensure all clinical criteria maintain strict independence from manufacturer influence, prioritizing patient health and employer savings. You'll collaborate with clinical leadership to design innovative management strategies for high-cost specialty drugs, gene therapies, and orphan drugs. Cross-Functional Leadership: You'll partner with executive peers across Pharmacy Networks, Clinical Operations, Sales, Finance, and Analytics to ensure integrated supply chain execution. You'll build, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of trade relations directors, clinical pharmacists, and data analysts.
