Salary: USD 190,000 - 220,000 / annual
Jetson is a vertically integrated home electrification company on a mission to accelerate the transition of 100 million homes across North America away from fossil fuels toward sustainable energy. The company builds and installs heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, and EV chargers, combining technology, automation, and data to scale clean energy adoption.
As Vice President of Field Operations, you will lead the safe, high-quality, and profitable delivery of all installations across Canada and the United States. You will oversee General Managers running branches in Colorado, British Columbia, Massachusetts, New York, and California, and scale this model into new markets as the company grows.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing field operations strategy to meet installation volume, quality, and margin targets across all markets
- Leading, coaching, and holding accountable General Managers to ensure branches hit KPIs for installs, revenue, NPS, safety, and crew compliance
- Defining field organizational structure and building a bench of leaders for new market expansion
- Owning installation quality and first-time-right performance, setting standards and reducing callbacks and warranty costs
- Championing a safety-first culture, managing the health and safety program, incident reporting, and compliance with OSHA, WorkSafeBC, and local regulations
- Ensuring field teams meet licensing, permitting, and inspection requirements across all jurisdictions
- Driving crew productivity and capacity planning, balancing in-house crews and subcontractor partners
- Partnering with VP of Customer & Service Operations to align scheduling, system design, and project coordination with field throughput
- Owning the field technology stack (Zuper) to improve dispatch, job checklists, and real-time visibility
- Leading fleet, tools, uniforms, and warehouse operations in partnership with Supply Chain
- Building recruiting, onboarding, training, and certification programs for field roles with People Operations
- Leading new market launches, standing up branches and hiring local leadership
- Developing and managing field operating budgets and branch P&Ls, driving labor efficiency and cost control
- Defining, reporting, and acting on field KPIs for executive visibility
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred), or equivalent field leadership experience
- 10+ years of field operations experience in residential HVAC, home services, solar, electrical, or construction, including 5+ years leading multi-branch or multi-market operations
- Experience scaling field operations from startup to scale-up across geographically dispersed locations
- Proven experience leading General Managers and large field teams across the United States and Canada, managing both in-house crews and subcontractors
- Deep working knowledge of heat pump and HVAC installation, electrical scopes, permitting, and inspections
- Strong safety record and experience building safety programs and culture in field environments
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, branch P&Ls, labor productivity, and cost-control measures
- Experience with field service management and dispatch platforms (Zuper, ServiceTitan) and CRM platforms (HubSpot)
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to drive operational excellence
- Excellent leadership, coaching, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel frequently across the U.S. and Canada as needed
