Saronic Technologies is developing autonomous surface vessels for maritime defense. The Vessel Scheduler (also titled Vessel Planner) owns the detailed production schedule for assigned hulls and is responsible for maintaining activity logic, production sequencing, progress updates, near-term priorities, and forecasted vessel milestones in Primavera P6.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed Primavera P6 schedules for assigned vessels, including activity logic, durations, and production sequencing.
- Verify work breakdown structure (WBS), estimates, durations, and sequence logic for accuracy and constructibility at the hull level.
- Status the schedule with timely progress updates and keep near-term priorities and look-ahead schedules current.
- Maintain forecasted vessel milestones and ensure hull-level changes roll up into the integrated master schedule.
- Preserve schedule integrity through ongoing logic review, resolving open-ended activities, constraints, and out-of-sequence work.
- Perform critical path and near-critical path analysis at the hull level to identify risks and recovery opportunities.
- Calculate schedule variance (SV) and Schedule Performance Index (SPI) against baseline.
- Produce milestone bar chart schedules, S-curves, and look-ahead schedules (e.g., 3-week and 90-day).
- Prepare progress updates and provide hull-level inputs for weekly and monthly reporting.
- Participate in and facilitate hull schedule review meetings with shop and production leadership.
- Coordinate with engineering and procurement to align design releases and material availability with production sequencing.
- Integrate quality hold points into the hull schedule, including Requests for Inspection (RFI), punch lists, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and product requirement punches.
The Vessel Scheduler works closely with shop and production leadership to keep the hull schedule accurate and executable, and ensures that each detailed hull schedule directly supports the integrated master schedule so that milestone changes at the hull level are reflected in the overall site forecast.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 2–4+ years of planning/scheduling or project controls experience, preferably in shipbuilding, marine, or complex fabrication environments.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 or similar caliber scheduling software, including building and maintaining detailed, logic-driven schedules.
- Working knowledge of critical path method (CPM) scheduling and schedule performance metrics (SV, SPI).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for reporting and analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience scheduling new construction vessels or similarly complex production units.
- Familiarity with marine construction sequencing and quality processes (RFI, FAT, punch list management).
- PMI-SP, AACE PSP, or similar scheduling/project controls certification.
