Deliveroo Hop is Deliveroo's 24/7 digital supermarket offering on-demand grocery delivery. As Vendor/Category Manager, you will drive the performance of assigned product categories within Deliveroo Hop UAE, reporting to the Senior Vendor Manager.
You will own category strategy across range selection, sourcing, pricing, cost and contract negotiations, promotions, merchandising, and marketing campaigns. You will manage vendor relationships with local and international grocery suppliers, negotiate contracts, monitor vendor performance, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include: supporting range selection and pricing aligned with Deliveroo Hop's value proposition; identifying SKUs for promotional campaigns; monitoring and optimizing category performance against plan; developing and managing vendor relationships; negotiating favorable contract terms and service levels; analyzing vendor performance and taking corrective actions; managing vendor compliance; sourcing new products and maintaining inventory levels; resolving vendor disputes and payment reconciliations; monitoring market trends and competitor activities; and driving vendor media spend on the platform.
You will work in a hybrid model (three days per week in the Dubai DIFC office) in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and the capacity to build strong partnerships. You should be proactive, results-driven, and comfortable with spreadsheet analysis (Excel/Google Sheets).
Ideal candidates have 3+ years in vendor/category management or buying functions, with grocery experience a plus. International FMCG sourcing and fresh category sourcing experience is desirable. Knowledge of BI and data analytics tools (SQL, Tableau, Power BI) is an added advantage.
