Kodiak Robotics is seeking a Vehicle Integration Engineer to lead system-level integration of next-generation autonomous vehicle platforms. The role spans the full integration lifecycle from architecture definition through validation and deployment, with responsibility for bringing together sensors, compute, actuation, and vehicle systems.
Key responsibilities include leading cross-functional integration efforts with mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and systems teams; developing and executing comprehensive test plans to validate platform functionality, performance, and reliability; coordinating build and integration events; and providing design-for-manufacturing and design-for-test feedback to ensure platforms are built for quality and scale. You will develop and maintain platform documentation including drawings, schematics, BOMs, and test reports, identify and resolve integration issues through systematic debugging and root cause analysis, and partner with systems and hardware teams to define integration requirements and acceptance criteria.
The ideal candidate brings a BS or MS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of experience in autonomous vehicles, automotive, or related industries. You should have demonstrated experience leading new platform or product integration programs from early development through validation, with strong systems thinking and problem-solving skills. Technical competencies include hands-on proficiency with automotive electronics, communication protocols (Ethernet, CAN), scripting languages (Python, MATLAB), Linux-based systems, computer networking, and CAD tools (SolidWorks). You are equally comfortable with a wrench and keyboard, have played lead roles on multiple integration programs, take ownership of results, and excel at clear technical communication and cross-functional collaboration.
