SecurityScorecard, a global leader in cybersecurity ratings with 12+ million companies continuously rated across 64 countries, is seeking a UX Director to lead a fundamental transformation of the Product Design & Research organization. This is a high-impact, strategic role reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer with real influence over product direction.
You will own design strategy across the platform and AI-powered product lines, setting multi-quarter vision and making the case for design investment at the executive table. A core responsibility is rebuilding the operating model—transitioning the team from a centralized ticket queue to decentralized pods embedded in product-line tracks, mirroring how Product and Engineering are organized for closer customer alignment and continuity.
This role emphasizes AI-native design practices. You will transform designers into AI builders, not just AI users, enabling them to work directly against the codebase (GitHub access equivalent to engineers) to produce interactive, implementation-accurate prototypes grounded in the real system rather than static comps. You'll set the tone for cross-functional speed, where designers and PMs move fast together on the same problem in service of the customer.
Key responsibilities include: governing the design system as infrastructure to measurably accelerate design and engineering velocity; driving B2B design excellence for complex, data-dense, multi-persona enterprise workflows with WCAG 2.2 accessibility as default; embedding research and data through usability testing and behavioral analytics (FullStory, Pendo, or similar) to inform roadmap-level decisions; hiring and building a world-class design team; and establishing a culture of direct, kind, elevating feedback with strong, opinionated points of view.
SecurityScorecard is headquartered in NYC, backed by world-class investors including Silver Lake Waterman, Moody's, Sequoia Capital, GV, and Riverwood Capital. The company has been recognized by Inc Magazine as a "Best Workplace," by Crain's NY as a "Best Places to Work in NYC," and by Fast Company as one of the World's Most Innovative Companies for 2023.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of UX or product design experience as a strong, opinionated design leader who drives change
- Proven track record setting and executing design strategy at the organizational level, including hiring and developing senior design talent
- B2B SaaS background (not primarily consumer); understanding of enterprise buying cycles and deep user research requirements
- Real, hands-on fluency in AI-augmented design workflows with specific examples: tools used, process, what you actually built (general AI tool use alone is insufficient)
- Demonstrated personal drive to stay current on AI-enabled design through training, cohorts, or peer networks
- Clear point of view on resolving design/PM overlap in an AI-builder workflow, rooted in shared ownership rather than territory
- Proven experience building and governing design systems as cross-team infrastructure
- Strong command of WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards
- Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills
- Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or related field; equivalent experience accepted
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in cybersecurity or closely adjacent regulated/enterprise-trust space
- Experience scaling a design org through growth stage or product expansion
- Experience formalizing agile, pod-based design operating models
- History building design leadership pipelines
- Comfort engaging directly with customers, including live, collaborative sessions
