Abridge is an AI-powered healthcare platform founded in 2018 that transforms patient-clinician conversations into structured clinical notes in real-time. The company uses generative AI and Linked Evidence technology to help providers trust and verify AI-generated clinical summaries, with deep EMR integrations across health systems.
You will own end-to-end recruiting for interns and early-career talent, primarily in software engineering, building Abridge's early talent program from the ground up. This is a program-building role, not an inherited one—you'll partner closely with the Early Talent Program Manager and engineering leaders to create a differentiated hiring strategy that reaches broadly across universities, community colleges, bootcamps, apprenticeships, and alternative talent pathways.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own end-to-end intern and early-career recruiting, initially focused on software engineering
- Partner with the Early Talent Program Manager to build and execute hiring strategy
- Source exceptional candidates across diverse channels including universities, technical communities, bootcamps, apprenticeships, and events
- Work with engineering leaders to define what "exceptional potential" looks like and build a rigorous, consistent evaluation process
- Deliver a candidate experience that reflects Abridge's values: demanding, caring, and mission-driven
- Use pipeline data and hiring outcomes to continuously improve the program
- Build systems and partnerships to scale the program
- Support other critical technical roles outside peak early-talent cycles
The role is based in Abridge's San Francisco office (Mission District) and requires a minimum of three days per week in-office, with flexibility for remote work on other days.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience recruiting software engineers, ideally including interns or early-career talent
- Track record of finding strong candidates through multiple sourcing channels
- Technical fluency sufficient to evaluate engineering profiles and partner credibly with hiring managers
- Strong judgment for recognizing potential, learning velocity, and motivation beyond traditional credentials
- Builder's mindset and comfort creating structure in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
- High ownership, urgency, and care for candidate experience
- Genuine connection to Abridge's mission and excitement about helping emerging talent
Bonus qualifications:
- Experience building or scaling an early-talent program
- Recruiting across both technical and non-technical early-career roles
- Partnerships developed with bootcamps, apprenticeships, community colleges, or alternative talent communities
