iCapital seeks a Vice President, Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to lead the firm's Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF), and Counter-Proliferation Financing (CPF) compliance framework in the United Arab Emirates. This is a senior compliance leadership role within the Regulatory and Compliance team, responsible for establishing and maintaining an effective, risk-based AML program aligned with iCapital's UAE operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee the UAE AML/CFT/CPF compliance framework and ensure alignment with applicable UAE laws, regulations, and global standards
- Serve as the primary contact for UAE regulators and the UAE Financial Intelligence Unit
- Investigate, escalate, and report suspicious activity in association with relevant investigations
- Monitor regulatory developments and lead implementation of enhancements to the firm's UAE framework
- Review EMEA distributor agreements to ensure compliance with UAE requirements
- Act as the primary AML contact with the iCapital Middle East Client Solutions team
The role requires deep expertise in alternative investments compliance, particularly in the UAE and Middle East region. The successful candidate will work in the Abu Dhabi office four days per week, with flexibility to work remotely on Fridays.
Requirements:
- 10-15+ years of experience in alternatives, preferably with private funds and registered investment advisor experience in the UAE and Middle East
- Experience in fund structuring and formation, with ability to review governing documents for alternative and registered funds
- Strong AML/KYC expertise regarding regulatory requirements for private fund investors and distributors in EMEA
- Excellent verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities
- Professionalism in both client-facing and internal interactions
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a continuous learning mindset
- Self-motivated with robust project management and process development skills
- JD is a plus but not required
