The company processes over $1B in monthly transactions across 30+ countries and serves millions of users globally. As UK Entity Controller, you will report to the Head of Financial Control and Reporting and own the financial operations for LemFi's largest and most regulated group of entities, including an FCA-authorised e-money institution, a payment institution, and a growing consumer credit business. You will lead a small accounting team and establish a reliable, scalable close process that supports rapid product expansion within a highly regulated environment. Key responsibilities include: - Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close for all UK entities, ensuring every material balance is substantiated and independently reviewed on the group timetable. - Prepare and file FRS 102 statutory accounts on time, serve as the primary contact for UK auditors, and track audit findings and management letter points to resolution. - Build and own credit accounting for the consumer credit business, including loan book management, IFRS 9 expected credit loss modelling, interest and fee income recognition, write-offs, and funding facility accounting. - Sign off safeguarding requirement calculations for each regulated entity and ensure safeguarded funds and customer balances are correctly reflected, reconciled, and agreed with Data, Treasury, and Reconciliation teams. - Account for high-volume multi-currency transactions, including FX revaluation and processor/bank balance reconciliation; partner with Group Reporting on intercompany positions. - Collaborate with FP&A on entity-level forecasts, evaluate capital adequacy, and provide reliable data to Tax and Regulatory Finance teams for FCA returns. - Strengthen the control environment by documenting processes, closing control gaps, embedding maker/checker review and segregation of duties, building team redundancy, and automating close tasks with Finance Systems and Data teams. You will work in a fast-moving fintech environment where the product surface is expanding and regulatory requirements are stringent. This role offers genuine ownership and the opportunity to shape how a lean, well-controlled finance function operates at scale. REQUIREMENTS: - ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with 10+ years of post-qualification experience, including meaningful time as an entity or financial controller. - Hands-on experience in lending or consumer credit accounting, including IFRS 9 ECL modelling and loan book accounting. - Experience working inside an FCA-regulated firm (e-money institution, payment institution, bank, or lender). - Strong FRS 102 and IFRS technical knowledge with a track record of clean statutory audits and ability to assess and document accounting treatment of new products. - Comfort with high transaction volumes, multiple currencies, and payment processor data; experience with NetSuite or comparable ERP. - Proven ability to lead and develop a small accounting team with a hands-on, low-ego approach. NICE TO HAVE: - Big 4 or similar audit background. - Fintech, cross-border payments, or remittance experience with knowledge of safeguarding under Electronic Money and Payment Services Regulations. - Experience in multi-entity groups with US parent and US GAAP consolidation requirements.
