Salary: USD 80,000 - 95,000 / annual

You will serve as a Travel Clinical Educator for Stepful's Surgical Technology program, delivering hands-on skills instruction across multiple US locations. This full-time role involves teaching and facilitating skills labs, demonstrating proper surgical techniques, assessing student competency, and providing remediation to ensure mastery before clinical rotations. You'll coordinate with hospital preceptors, document student progress, and report clinical outcomes.
Beyond teaching, you'll represent Stepful on-site at clinical partner locations, supporting client onboarding and program implementation between 11-week cohorts. The initial cohort begins mid-July in Lincoln, Nebraska, with future cohorts in various locations. You'll work closely with internal teams and external partners, providing insights to enhance the student and partner experience. This is a travel-based role; Stepful covers reasonable travel expenses including flights, transportation, and hotel accommodations (pre-approved by your manager).
You report to the Program Director, Surgical Services. The role requires regular travel to multiple clinical sites around the United States.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Current Surgical Tech certification (CST or NCCT)
- 3+ years of experience teaching Surgical Technology in a lab or school setting
- Hands-on experience as a Surgical Technologist in the operating room
- Current BLS certification
- Willingness to travel to multiple clinical sites around the United States
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to be hands-on, resourceful, and thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments
BONUS:
- CRCST certification and/or experience teaching Sterile Processing
- Bachelor's degree in a related healthcare field
- Experience with competency-based education models
- Experience supporting diverse and underserved student populations
- Familiarity with NCCT certification requirements
- Previous experience with online or hybrid education programs
