Salary: USD 166,000 - 220,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is seeking a Training Simulation Engineer to join the Deployments Training Team, which designs and delivers training programs for military customers operating Anduril's hardware and software solutions. This is a formative-stage role where you will help shape how Anduril builds and delivers software-based training environments.
You will contribute to designing and implementing foundational web frameworks to interact with Lattice OS (Anduril's AI-powered operating system) through TypeScript, xAPI, and other API protocols for tracking and recording training scenarios. Your work will span multiple technical domains as you identify friction points and craft elegant solutions to improve training infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building full-stack features for trainer scenario construction and deployment
- Integrating flight simulations and other emulators for Anduril robot representations
- Creating NPC logic for realistic scene elements (birds, aircraft) and adversary behaviors
- Developing scalable, customizable modules adaptable to various customer contexts
- Designing instructional tools and videos for non-technical end users
- Participating in simulation event readiness reviews and scenario development
- Identifying pain points and opportunities to improve training experiences
- Working across the full stack (front-end, back-end, build, CI/CD)
- Supporting and mentoring fellow engineers on best practices
Required qualifications: Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent; 3+ years software engineering experience; solid foundation in algorithms and data structures; production web application experience with JavaScript/TypeScript (React, RxJS); CMI5/xAPI and LMS/LRS integration experience; proficiency in C++, Rust, or Go; automated testing and version control knowledge; U.S. Person status for export control compliance.
Preferred: bias for action and ownership; CI/CD experience (CircleCI); monorepo and modern build systems (Bazel); Go experience; gRPC/protobuf knowledge; high empathy for engineer customers.
