Gauntlet is seeking a Trading Operations Lead to own trading operations and on-call coverage during APAC hours, working across vault strategy and curation teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of trading operations and on-call coverage during APAC hours, working with vault strategy and curation teams
- Monitor live vaults and strategies, investigate alerts, and identify unexpected behavior or potential risks using internal dashboards and onchain data
- Respond to operational incidents following established playbooks and escalating to relevant teams when needed
- Collaborate across timezones to improve operational processes, incident response procedures, and regional handovers
- Stay informed on crypto and broader financial markets, identifying developments that could impact strategies and sharing insights with the team
- Support Business Development in technical discussions with APAC partners, explaining products, understanding requirements, and exploring new strategies
- Improve tools, monitoring processes, and documentation supporting day-to-day operations
Success Milestones:
Within 30 days, you'll understand Gauntlet's vaults, strategies, and operational processes, shadow the on-call rotation, and join initial partner conversations. Within 3–6 months, you'll independently manage APAC operations, handle incidents confidently, improve runbooks and handovers, and lead technical partner discussions. Within 12 months, you'll be the go-to person for trading operations in APAC, providing reliable strategy coverage and strengthening the global operating model.
Requirements:
- Direct experience with live financial markets in trading operations, execution, or similar roles at hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, trading desks, or crypto trading businesses
- Strong understanding of market dynamics and trading strategies with ability to recognize unusual market behavior and understand implications
- Active engagement with crypto and traditional financial markets; comfort making decisions as new information emerges
- Good judgment under pressure with confidence to investigate issues independently, resolve what you can, and escalate appropriately
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand how trading strategies work without being a software engineer or quantitative researcher
- Excellent communication skills with experience working across teams and explaining technical concepts to different audiences
- Business fluency in both Mandarin and English
Nice to Have:
- Experience with DeFi protocols, onchain trading, or digital asset strategies
- Experience working directly with institutional clients or partners in technical capacity (solutions engineering, solutions architecture, technical consulting, strategy implementation support)
- Familiarity with Python, SQL, or other data analysis and monitoring tools
