Salary: USD 90,000 - 100,000 / annual
Mobia Medical is a commercial-stage medtech company delivering the Vivistim® Paired VNS™ Therapy, the first and only FDA-approved implantable solution designed to improve function in chronic ischemic stroke survivors with moderate to severe upper limb impairments. This therapy combines targeted vagus nerve stimulation with functional movement to promote neuroplasticity.
As a Therapy Development Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the adoption and clinical integration of the Vivistim® Paired VNS™ System. You will work closely with healthcare professionals—physicians, therapists, and rehabilitation teams—to educate and train them on effective use of the system. You will serve as a clinical expert, guiding therapy implementation, monitoring patient progress, and providing on-site and remote support to ensure optimal outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing territory plans and strategies in partnership with territory managers to create new avenues for patients to access prescribing Vivistim® accounts, with focus on rehabilitation facilities and key decision makers
- Achieving and exceeding monthly, quarterly, and annual Vivistim® implant and sales goals through focus on upper extremity evaluations and paired VNS therapy candidate identification
- Managing and expanding rehabilitation facilities in assigned geography with comprehensive business planning
- Supporting surgical implanting sites in the operating suite
- Delivering in-depth product presentations for patients, accounts, and clinicians
- Monitoring customer, market, and competitor activity and providing feedback to leadership
- Establishing yourself as the "Vivistim® Paired-VNS™ Patient Expert" for your assigned geography
- Managing customer relationships and providing leadership in advancing strategic opportunities
- Working closely with marketing to establish successful patient/customer access and therapy adoption
- Providing weekly sales forecasting and completing administrative requirements accurately
- Maintaining company standards involving ethical and moral character
This role requires strong communication skills, deep understanding of neurorehabilitation or medical device environments, and passion for improving the lives of stroke survivors. You will be expected to exceed customer expectations, contribute to high patient satisfaction, and demonstrate outstanding product, technical, and clinical expertise.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy required (OT, PT, COTA, or PTA)
- Minimum 3–5 years of documented, successful clinical/sales experience with supportive results
- Neuro-focused training background strongly preferred
- Experience selling directly to Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R/Physiatry), Neurosurgery, and OT/PT healthcare physician communities preferred
- Experience representing and launching revolutionary, pioneering, disruptive technology strongly preferred
- Experience educating and advocating for stroke rehabilitation patients
- Experience calling on hospitals and rehabilitation facilities strongly preferred
- Solid process orientation, demonstrated resource management/allocation experience, and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- Intellectual, self-starter and independent thinker with aptitude to work autonomously
- Experience utilizing Salesforce or similar CRM
- Robust interpersonal skills with evidence of teamwork and collaboration
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with customers and patients at all levels
- Creative thinker and appropriate risk taker
- Understands and ability to operate within appropriate legal and regulatory guidelines
- Ability to influence decision makers in large and complex environments
- Capable of selling new solutions in mature markets
