Relativity Space is building rockets to serve today's needs and tomorrow's breakthroughs. The Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting growing demand for launch capacity. The Factory Test team designs, builds, and operates the infrastructure needed to test nearly every part of Terran R at the Long Beach headquarters. This centralized approach provides engineers and technicians with exposure to the entire product lifecycle across a wide range of part sizes and complexities. Test stands are capable of handling millions of pounds of force.
As a Test Fluids Engineer II, you will own one or more test systems or test campaigns supporting development of Terran R components. As a system owner, you will design, analyze, and operate automated fluids systems. Teamwork and communication skills are critical, as you will work cross-departmentally to ensure your systems meet the test requirements of component designers.
Key responsibilities include: designing test systems including their mechanical, fluid, and electrical components; commissioning new test assets and systems; completing, presenting, or reviewing fault tolerance analysis; and planning and executing test campaigns. You will lead multiple projects in parallel, gaining broad technical experience without needing a background in aerospace. With high-impact campaigns ahead, this is an opportunity to help shape and scale the test infrastructure required to meet the demands of a rapidly growing launch program.
