LogicGate is seeking a Software Engineer: Test (SDET) to build and scale automated testing frameworks, pipelines, and tools that guarantee the reliability of the Risk Cloud platform. This is a hybrid role based in Chicago, IL.
In this role, you will design, build, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks and end-to-end regression suites using TypeScript and Playwright, augmented by AI-driven code generation. You'll write clean automation code to validate backend APIs and integration layers while adhering to the testing pyramid to ensure a stable deployment lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and building robust automation suites and expanding test coverage across the ecosystem
- Systematically isolating complex software regressions through independent debugging and root-cause analysis
- Contributing to swarm testing efforts, validating edge cases, error conditions, and happy paths
- Authoring clear technical documentation within the codebase and Confluence, including test strategies and automation runbooks
- Working operationally with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and platform data stores to manage automated test data flows
- Partnering cross-functionally with product managers, feature developers, QA Analysts, and DevOps in Agile sprints
- Participating in peer code reviews for both application features and test suites
- Helping define department-wide QA expectations and translating strategy into framework practices
- Enabling QA Analysts to build automation skills through pairing and code review
You will leverage AI-driven tooling across test authoring, regression analysis, and coverage expansion to compress delivery timelines and raise precision.
