Hinge Health is seeking a Test Engineer II to join its hardware testing and verification team in San Francisco. This role is central to scaling Hinge Health's testing capabilities for software-enabled medical devices used in musculoskeletal care delivery. In the first three months, you will execute defined test methods and verification protocols for design verification, sustaining changes, and complaint investigations. You'll collect, record, and organize test data, draft clear test reports addressing results and discrepancies, and support ad hoc engineering test execution. You'll also assist with QC testing for in-office builds, including incoming checks and screening activities. By six months, you'll serve as first-line support for hardware-related complaint investigation testing using established procedures. You'll help run the lab effectively by maintaining equipment records, tracking fixtures, coordinating calibration status, and keeping the space organized. You'll support execution of test method validation protocols and automated/semi-automated test execution by preparing devices, samples, fixtures, and scripts; monitoring runs; and documenting failures. Within your first year, you'll support assembly of prototypes, fixtures, and test setups using standard lab tools. You'll identify recurring execution pain points and partner with test engineers to improve repeatability, standardize workflows, and expand automation. You'll work closely with Quality, R&D, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure testing stays on schedule and is properly documented. You are organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable in regulated product development environments where rigor, traceability, and process adherence are critical. You collaborate effectively across functions and continuously seek to improve test workflows through better tooling and standardization. Hinge Health operates a hybrid model requiring three days per week in the San Francisco office. The company uses AI-powered technology to deliver personalized, evidence-based musculoskeletal care to over 20 million people across 60+ health plans and 2,800+ employers.
