Salary: USD 125,000 - 175,000 / annual
Voyager Technologies is seeking a Test Engineer to join the Products business line in San Diego. This role is responsible for environmental testing (TVAC, Thermal, Vibe, and Shock) of complex PCBAs and developing new test architectures, plans, and procedures. The position reports to the VP of Product Design within the Engineering department and is fully onsite.
Key responsibilities include designing and executing functional performance and environmental test architectures; developing and tracking test procedures, plans, and schedules; reporting, discussing, and documenting test results; reviewing boards and system-level functional specifications and design documents; participating in software product design and code reviews; ensuring all test protocols follow testing standards and are properly documented; developing work estimates and status reports; maintaining coordination with project managers and team members; and potentially leading and coordinating testing efforts for projects.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering; 8+ years of test engineering experience with demonstrated technical skills; expert-level configuration of ATE components including rack instrumentation and PXI architectures; excellent track record developing test automation software using LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, Python, C#, or Visual Basic; working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems; experience with test tools and equipment, particularly high-end spectrum and vector network analyzers; experience writing and executing test procedures; and strong documentation skills.
Preferred qualifications include working knowledge of SolidWorks and basic mechanical engineering concepts related to bed-of-nail test fixture design; previous experience testing RF devices in S, X, and Ka bands; previous experience in the space industry with space-rated components; and exposure to optics and laser communication technologies.
This role requires U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency due to ITAR compliance for space technology export regulations. The base salary range is $125,000–$175,000, depending on experience, skills, and location.
