REGENT is building Seagliders—wing-in-ground-effect craft that revolutionize regional coastal transportation. These vehicles travel just above water at 180 mph with 180-mile range on current battery tech, combining airplane speed with boat economics. The company is scaling from prototype to full production. As a Test Engineer, you'll support planning and execution of sea and air test activities that advance Seagliders toward reliable transportation systems. You'll work closely with senior test engineers and cross-functional teams to translate engineering objectives into structured test plans, safe field operations, and actionable data. Key responsibilities include: - Supporting planning and execution of sea and air test events, preparing vehicles, test infrastructure, and instrumentation - Developing test plans, procedures, and test cards with clear objectives, success criteria, and data requirements - Collaborating with design, controls, structures, propulsion, and systems teams to align test objectives with engineering goals - Coordinating test readiness activities including vehicle configuration checks, instrumentation setup, and field logistics - Participating in real-time test operations, monitoring telemetry, capturing observations, and troubleshooting anomalies - Collecting, organizing, and analyzing test data to generate post-test reports informing engineering decisions - Contributing to safety processes including hazard identification and operational risk assessments - Supporting field testing around marine vessels, aircraft systems, propulsion systems, and high-energy hardware You should bring hands-on experience in vehicle testing, prototyping, or hardware development in UAV, aerospace, maritime, automotive, or robotics. Strong safety mindset with hazard analysis and risk management experience is essential. Familiarity with data acquisition systems, telemetry, sensor instrumentation, and scripting in Python or MATLAB is valuable. Prior field testing experience and ability to troubleshoot hardware in real-world environments are important.
