Arc is electrifying the marine industry by rethinking powertrains, software, and vessel designs from first principles. The company has proven core technology, is scaling production of flagship consumer models, and is now extending its platform to commercial applications (tugs, ferries, defense) with signed contracts and a robust pipeline. As a Test Engineer, you will own component, assembly, and vehicle-level prototype testing for electric boats. You'll define test plans, build and instrument test setups, execute testing, analyze data, troubleshoot failures, and collaborate directly with design and manufacturing engineers to drive issues to closure. This is an opportunity to help establish Arc's test capability from the ground up rather than inherit an existing process. Key responsibilities include: - Owning development and qualification testing across battery, powertrain, electrical, infotainment, software, and other subsystems - Drafting test procedures, instrumentation plans, schematics, and work instructions - Engineering test stands for development, qualification, and production use (shock, vibration, thermal, environmental, durability, lifecycle, dynamometer testing) - Configuring and implementing data acquisition systems for objective data collection - Defining and executing test campaigns alongside vehicle engineers - Diagnosing, reporting, and repairing prototype issues with test technicians - Performing bench tests in the lab and on-vehicle tests in the field - Up to 25% travel You'll thrive here if you move fast, take ownership, care about details, and are fired up by the mission to electrify marine transportation. This is a full-time, on-site role at Arc's Los Angeles headquarters.
