Dwelly is an AI-powered operating system for residential lettings in the UK, operating 15,000+ properties and $470M GMV. The company is seeking a Telecommunication Engineer to own and operate the communication infrastructure supporting customer and internal interactions.
Key responsibilities include managing day-to-day performance and reliability of telephony, SMS/RCS messaging, email, and WhatsApp Business API channels. You will work with providers including Voximplant, Vonage, and Twilio, handling configuration, troubleshooting, platform administration, and technical escalations. The role requires monitoring service health, delivery quality, blacklists, and spam ratings to ensure uninterrupted communication.
You will build and maintain telephony routing scenarios for inbound/outbound calls, including voicemail, business hours schedules, transfers, call recordings, and CLI logic. Support all telecommunication components integrated into the CRM through log checking, troubleshooting, template management, and logic modifications. Deliver integrations across communication systems using APIs, webhooks, WebSockets, and AI-powered solutions in collaboration with developers.
Internal support responsibilities include handling employee requests through ticketing systems and collaborating with QA during incidents, acceptance testing, and functional validation. You will investigate issues quickly, coordinate with vendors and contractors, and drive resolution during high-priority service disruptions.
For acquisitions, work with the integration team to assess telecom stacks of acquired agencies, analyze call routing logic, and produce technical diagrams. Support number porting processes and agency migrations to Dwelly systems with minimal disruption.
Required qualifications include strong English communication skills, higher degree education, and strong understanding of telephony systems, SIP, trunks, routing logic, and VoIP operations. Experience troubleshooting telecom incidents across voice, SMS, email, or messaging channels is essential. Ability to work with APIs, logs, JSON, webhooks, and provider documentation is required.
Preferred background includes experience with Twilio, Vonage, Voximplant, UK number porting, WABA operations, email deliverability/blacklist management, SQL, spreadsheet analysis, and contact centre environments. The ideal candidate has startup mentality, customer-centric mindset, proactive self-sufficiency, vendor management comfort, and familiarity with AI tools.
