Salary: EUR 92,000 - 116,000 / annual
Monzo is seeking a Technology and Operational Risk Senior Manager to join the second line of defence in Dublin. This is a Controlled Function role reporting to the Director of Operational Risk, Monzo Europe.
You will serve as the subject matter expert for operational risk, technology risk (ICT and cyber security), and operational resilience across the EU. Key responsibilities include:
• Acting as second line subject matter expert for operational risk, technology systems, digital infrastructure, and security risk management
• Reviewing and challenging the design and effectiveness of controls over key technology systems and digital infrastructure
• Providing oversight and challenge of first line risk and control self-assessments (RCSA), incident management, reporting, and risk mitigation processes
• Contributing second line input into technology and security strategies and business continuity planning
• Supporting development and maintenance of the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF), policies, standards, and ICT/Security/Resilience policies
• Coordinating second line assurance reviews and risk deep dives into critical operational and technology areas
• Overseeing compliance with the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) in the EU and alignment with local regulatory standards
• Preparing operational and technology risk reports for governance forums, risk committees, and senior management
You should have 8+ years' experience in operational risk, technology risk, or related roles in financial services, ideally in digital/challenger banking or pan-European firms. Deep knowledge of risk management practices, regulatory expectations, and industry standards (EBA Guidelines on ICT & Security Risk Management, DORA, Central Bank of Ireland Guidance, GDPR, PSD2/PSD3) is essential. Strong understanding of digital banking technology, cloud computing, and cybersecurity frameworks required.
This role is subject to Central Bank of Ireland Fitness and Probity Standards and Individual Accountability Framework (IAF) conduct standards.
