Salary: USD 200,000 - 250,000 / annual
David is a high-protein, low-calorie food brand building a platform for craveable, blood-sugar-friendly foods. Founded by Peter Rahal (Cofounder and Former CEO of RXBAR), the company is at a pivotal growth stage and aims to become the leading consumer food brand focused on high-protein foods in North America and beyond.
As Director of Contract Manufacturing, you will own relationships with key co-manufacturing partners and drive their performance across all critical dimensions. You will serve as the primary point of contact for performance, priorities, risks, and escalations, and represent manufacturing capabilities and constraints internally to cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities include: owning manufacturing KPIs (production attainment, OTIF, RFT, throughput, yield, scrap, cost per pound, quality, complaint rates); leading quarterly business reviews with clear metrics and accountability; identifying performance gaps and driving root cause analysis and corrective actions; partnering with Planning on capacity management to support growth; building analytical tools and reporting for visibility and opportunity identification; and leading high-impact operational initiatives from problem definition through execution.
You will work cross-functionally with Quality, R&D, Procurement, Finance, Fulfillment, and Commercialization to execute operational priorities and product launches. The role requires deep understanding of partner operations, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to influence and drive results through external partners without direct authority.
Required: 8+ years in fast-paced, high-accountability environments (manufacturing, operations, supply chain, high-growth startup preferred). Strong relationship management, high ownership mentality, demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority, clear communication, strong judgment, and continuous improvement mindset.
