Wave is a fintech company building mobile financial services across Sub-Saharan Africa, with a mission to make Africa the first cashless continent. You will lead agent liquidity and cash operations in Cameroon, managing the complex logistics of ensuring adequate cash availability across Wave's agent network while maintaining cost efficiency and security standards. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic oversight and operational execution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and leading a skilled team to support Wave's rapid growth in Cameroon
- Developing sustainable processes and materials for the liquidity department
- Monitoring nationwide liquidity status and identifying priority areas
- Planning and coordinating cash logistics across the agent network, including rebalancing with banks, Cash-in-Transit companies, and premium agents
- Managing the agent network to minimize liquidity stress
- Ensuring strict adherence to security standards and SLA requirements with CIT firms, staff, and agents
- Proactively reporting challenges and implementing innovative solutions
You'll be based in Douala with frequent travel throughout Cameroon (approximately 50% travel). The role requires fluency in both French and English, 5+ years of experience in cash movements/CIT/treasury operations, and 2+ years of team management experience. A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business management is required. Strong analytical skills, Excel proficiency, process documentation abilities, and experience managing agent networks are essential. The ideal candidate understands local liquidity challenges in scaling agent networks, thinks creatively, communicates effectively, and demonstrates strong integrity.
