Travertine is an industrial transformation company developing electrochemical technology to recycle sulfate wastes into sulfuric acid and valuable mineral co-products. This enables large-scale circularity in extractive industries while decarbonizing building materials. The company has raised over $29M in capital, including $5M+ in US Federal and State grants, and successfully operated a demonstration plant in Rochester, NY. Travertine is now developing its first commercial phosphate plant—the only new phosphate plant being built on US soil in over 50 years.
As a Process Technician, you will support the advancement of Travertine's cutting-edge electrochemical technology. You will be responsible for setup, operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and analysis of experimental work packages at lab and pilot scale. Key responsibilities include:
• Setup and perform experiments under supervision of senior colleagues; collect and submit samples; organize, analyze, and report data
• Operate standardized electrochemical devices under guidance of senior personnel
• Maintain continuous device operation through daily check-ins, system monitoring, and periodic performance analysis
• Conduct standardized data analysis of electrolyzer performance with support from senior colleagues
• Troubleshoot issues during experiments to minimize downtime
• Assist with upgrades and maintenance of experimental systems and infrastructure, including piping, pump installation, reactor setup and cleanout
• Work with chemicals and equipment in a safe and thoughtful manner
