HUD is building infrastructure for AI data, enabling a marketplace and platform used by startups, Fortune 500 companies, and frontier labs. The company is backed by $16M in funding from top VCs and Y Combinator (W25) and is scaling profitably with strong demand.
As Technical Writer, you will create technically grounded content that helps AI engineers, researchers, and technical leaders understand HUD's platform and capabilities. Your work will span multiple formats: customer and partner case studies, technical articles, product explainers, launch materials, and social content for X and LinkedIn.
Key responsibilities include:
- Writing technically accurate content across formats, working with customers, partners, and internal experts to uncover stories and turn interviews, demos, and results into compelling narratives with concrete evidence
- Learning HUD's platform and marketplace deeply enough to explain product workflows, research, and real customer use cases
- Helping founders and the team communicate product vision, technical insights, and wins in HUD's voice
- Proposing new topics and formats, managing drafts through feedback cycles, and using reader engagement and GTM input to refine published work
The team is ~25 people, mostly full-time in-person but with some remote flexibility. The company includes 4 International Olympiad medalists, serial AI startup founders, and researchers with publications at top venues like ICLR and NeurIPS.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Portfolio demonstrating technical depth, clear explanations, and strong storytelling (must include at least one technical writing sample)
- Technical fluency to engage intelligently with AI engineers, researchers, and technical customers
- Strong research and interviewing skills to transform technical conversations into useful narratives
- Editorial judgment about reader needs, argument structure, and when visuals or examples enhance clarity
- Ability to move from ambiguous briefs to polished drafts, incorporate technical feedback, and manage multiple pieces simultaneously
- Genuine excitement about frontier AI models and HUD's mission
Strong candidates may also have:
- Familiarity with RL, environments, evals, benchmarks, or post-training data
- Published case studies or technical content for AI/ML, developer tools, or infrastructure companies
- Track record writing social content or ghostwriting for technical founders with audience traction
- Hands-on experience with technical products, code, or demos, and thoughtful use of AI tools for research and writing
The company prioritizes technical aptitude and learning potential over years of experience.
