As a Technical Support Engineer, you will own and resolve complex customer issues across Verkada's entire product suite, serving as the go-to expert for enterprise customers facing difficult technical problems. You will perform full-stack troubleshooting spanning network, hardware, software, and electrical systems. Key responsibilities include diving deep into intricate customer environments, providing best-practice design and installation guidance, collaborating with Engineering and Product teams to identify and resolve bugs, and developing knowledge base articles and whitepapers.
You will communicate technical matters clearly to customers both orally and in writing, own issues from creation through resolution, and help scale tools and processes. The role requires staying current on Verkada products and industry technologies while working closely with teammates on complex problems.
Required qualifications: 1+ years in Technical Support Engineering or IT; Bachelor's or Master's degree in Networking, Telecommunications, Systems Administration, IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Cybersecurity. Strong understanding of network fundamentals (HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, NAT, DHCP, 802.11, firewalls, Ethernet, PoE). Excellent communication and customer service skills with strong problem-solving abilities.
Preferred: experience with electrical systems, Linux, APIs, Python or other coding languages; industry certifications (CCNP, CCNA, CCENT, CCDA, CWNP, CWNA, MCSE, CEH, Network+, Security+, A+). This is a 5-day per week on-site role in Sydney.
