Anduril Industries is seeking a founding Site Reliability Engineer to design, build, and operate infrastructure for next-generation military wargaming and simulation facilities. You will own the reliability and performance of a massive-scale simulation platform that runs autonomous systems in contested multi-domain environments. In this hands-on role, you will maintain the simulation software stack across tools and environments, including installation, configuration, updates, and version management. You'll own the underlying infrastructure—compute, networking, storage, and environment configuration—keeping it provisioned, patched, and performant. You will design and automate a comprehensive post-release test suite that catches integration issues immediately through regression and smoke testing after every software release or configuration change. You'll forecast, diagnose, and eliminate failure modes by root-causing errors and bugs, driving them to permanent resolution, and implementing guardrails and monitoring to prevent recurrence. Partner closely with development teams and stakeholders to review upcoming changes for reliability risk and implement mitigation strategies before releases reach production. Monitor overall system health, instrument the environment, triage issues within scope, and escalate clearly when needed. Documentation is critical—you'll maintain runbooks, known issues, environment configuration, and release validation results so operational knowledge is shared and accessible. Required: proficiency in Python for automation and testing; working knowledge of C++ to read, debug, and trace issues in simulation code; solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, UDP, multicast, DNS, routing, firewalls, latency/packet loss diagnosis); experience maintaining production systems and troubleshooting under pressure; strong written and verbal communication; eligibility for security clearance. Preferred: experience with modeling, simulation, wargaming, or distributed simulation standards (DIS, HLA, TENA) and platforms like AFSIM or VBS. Position is based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with initial hiring in London, UK. Relocation to Abu Dhabi required upon hire.
