Loft Orbital is building the first marketplace for space-based AI applications—a platform where partners publish, deploy, and monetize AI solutions running on satellites in orbit. The company flies other people's payloads and software on standardized satellites and is scaling rapidly with 30+ missions flown and a fleet on track to reach 30 satellites by 2027. You will join as a Technical Recruiter focused on Software, working directly with hiring managers and the internal recruiting team to build and maintain talent pipelines for highly specialized, niche technical positions. This is a full-cycle recruiting role where you will own the end-to-end candidate experience: proactive sourcing, phone screening, technical alignment assessment, candidate communication, and pipeline management. You will be responsible for recruiting across software and product engineering disciplines including frontend/web applications, backend services, cloud infrastructure, software integration, test infrastructure, and distributed systems. A key part of the role is understanding and translating complex technical requirements—including specialized areas such as mission-control and ground software, telemetry and command systems, mission planning and scheduling, payload tasking and monitoring, data routing, and automation—into effective sourcing strategies. You will pitch Loft's mission, culture, and technical challenges to highly specialized, often passive candidates in a competitive talent market. The role requires strong collaboration with hiring managers, market insights, and recommendations to improve hiring outcomes. You will use ATS tools (Lever preferred) to maintain accurate pipelines and report on recruiting metrics and sourcing performance. Loft has offices in San Francisco, CA; Golden, CO; and Toulouse, France, with international exposure built into the role. **Requirements:** - 3+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience with strong focus on software and product engineering roles in fast-paced, high-growth environments - Demonstrated strength in proactive sourcing using LinkedIn Recruiter, advanced Boolean search techniques, and creative approaches to engaging passive candidates - Experience recruiting technical talent across software and product engineering disciplines: frontend/web applications, backend services, cloud infrastructure, software integration, test infrastructure, distributed systems - Strong understanding of software engineering concepts and technologies: Python, APIs, Git, Docker, CI/CD, automated testing, Linux, cloud-based systems - Ability to understand and translate complex technical requirements into effective sourcing strategies, including specialized areas such as mission-control and ground software, telemetry and command systems, mission planning and scheduling, payload tasking and monitoring, data routing, and automation - Familiarity with recruiting for specialized software environments: embedded C/C++, RTOS, secure web applications, satellite operations, flight dynamics, AI/ML applications - Proven ability to build and maintain strong talent pipelines for highly competitive, niche technical positions - Ability to effectively pitch company mission, culture, and technical challenges to highly specialized, passive candidates - Experience conducting phone screens, assessing technical alignment, and managing candidate communication throughout full interview lifecycle - Proficiency with ATS tools (Lever preferred), including maintaining accurate and up-to-date pipelines - Collaborative mindset and ability to partner closely with hiring managers and internal recruiting team - Excellent written and verbal communication skills **Nice to Haves:** - Experience recruiting within space, satellite, aerospace, robotics, autonomous systems, or adjacent deep-tech industries - Direct experience recruiting for mission-control software, satellite ground systems, flight software, embedded systems, or AI/ML engineering roles - Experience recruiting internationally, particularly across US and European technical talent markets - Prior work in or close partnership with startup or high-growth technology companies - Background in agency recruiting or experience managing multiple specialized technical searches simultaneously - Familiarity with ITAR, EAR, and compliance considerations relevant to US-based space and defense hiring - Skilled at using social platforms like LinkedIn to enhance employer brand and attract niche technical talent - Comfort reporting on recruiting metrics, pipeline health, and sourcing performance
