Runway is seeking a Senior/Staff HR Business Partner to partner directly with leadership and teams on organizational growth, structure, and performance. The company is building generative AI tools for video and creative production, focused on world models and simulation technology.
In this role, you will:
- Partner with leaders on organizational design, headcount planning, team structure, and leveling decisions
- Coach managers and executives on performance management, feedback, career development, and difficult conversations
- Own complex employee relations cases from intake through resolution, including investigations in partnership with Legal
- Collaborate with Compensation and Talent Acquisition on offers, promotions, and market adjustments
- Analyze headcount, attrition, engagement, and performance data to identify risks early and recommend action
- Design and implement programs aligned with Runway's team dynamics, including manager training and engagement initiatives
- Provide flexible support across the organization as needed

REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of HR experience, including at least 4 years as an HR Business Partner supporting fast-growing teams
- Experience at a high-growth company, ideally through periods of rapid headcount expansion
- Proven track record of advising senior leaders and earning their trust
- Strong employee relations experience with sound judgment and discretion
- Working knowledge of employment law, compensation practices, and performance management frameworks
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
- High ownership mindset and team-first attitude
