Destinus is scaling its propulsion team and building a dedicated Technical Project Manager group to own execution of product development programmes for solid rocket motors, pyrotechnic components, and related systems. As one of the first hires in this new PM function, you will manage projects end-to-end while helping establish the PM structure, processes, and tools alongside team leads and fellow TPMs. You will own complete programme execution from kick-off through hardware build, test campaigns, qualification, and delivery. Your core responsibilities include building and maintaining detailed programme plans covering engineering, manufacturing, procurement, testing, and regulatory dependencies; identifying and resolving critical path risks early; running programme reviews and cross-functional coordination meetings with documented decisions and closed actions; and tracking technical progress with propulsion and pyrotechnics engineers, translating it into clear programme status. You will manage external dependencies including supplier lead times, test facility scheduling, regulatory submissions, and customer milestones. You proactively flag scope creep, resource conflicts, and schedule risk to the department head with options and solutions, not just problems. You contribute to building the PM structure, tools, and ways of working for the department. This role frees engineers to focus on technical depth and team leads on strategic leadership, while you run the programme. You will work in a hardware-heavy, regulated environment where systems thinking, planning rigor, and clear communication are essential. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in aerospace, mechanical, systems engineering, or related discipline - 3–6 years in a hardware-heavy development environment; at least 2 years in project management, programme coordination, or technical lead role - Background in aerospace, defence, or similarly regulated hardware domain; familiarity with hardware development and military qualification cycles is essential - Experience in or exposure to rocket motor, pyrotechnic, or ammunition development programmes is a strong advantage - Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and testing - Strong systems thinking: see the full picture, identify where hard problems sit, know when to dive into detail without losing sight of overall programme - Strong planning and organizational skills; able to build programme schedules from scratch, identify critical path, and keep it current - Comfortable building structure in ambiguous environments; pragmatic over bureaucratic - Clear, direct communicator in English; German is an advantage
