AST SpaceMobile is building the first global cellular broadband network in space, designed to operate directly with standard mobile devices for both commercial and government applications. The company aims to eliminate connectivity gaps for five billion mobile subscribers and bring broadband to the unconnected.
The Technical Project Manager for Composite Structures will oversee project execution within the composite structures engineering discipline, coordinating with leadership and suppliers while maintaining integrated project plans for multiple initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead preparation, development, coordination, scheduling, and change management activities to maintain integrated plans meeting program and project requirements in accordance with industry standards
- Maintain, analyze, and produce metrics related to project plans
- Conduct risk assessments and develop documented risk handling plans
- Develop, collect, coordinate, and provide data updates to maintain status of programs, schedules, supplier commitments, and compliance
- Create and provide reports on performance variances, project status, and change information to project team and leadership
- Communicate plan changes and recovery plans to ensure stakeholder commitment
- Manage complex, cross-functional environments across multiple time zones
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and technical communication
The role requires availability for domestic and international travel.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering
- Minimum 3+ years of project management experience
- Preferred: PMP or similar project management certifications
- Preferred: Experience with data analytics tools (Tableau, PowerBI)
- Preferred: Knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace-specific quality standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, or other project management tools
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Ability to manage complex, cross-functional environments
- Risk management and technical communication expertise
