Volta is building AI infrastructure at scale—a fully vertically integrated platform delivering compute as reliably as electricity. The company has secured $10B in strategic partnerships and $5B in dedicated AI infrastructure funding, with operations across London, Palo Alto, and New York.
As Technical Programme Manager, Execution Readiness, you will own site readiness for Volta's AI factories across Europe and North America. Your core responsibility is ensuring that data centre builds are fully prepared—power, cooling, structure, connectivity, and all prerequisites—before GPU infrastructure and DSX (data centre systems) scope arrives on site.
Key responsibilities:
- Run site readiness tracking for each AI factory, maintaining build prerequisites checklists aligned to the DSX turn-up sequence
- Define and maintain readiness criteria, gates, and standards
- Lead readiness reviews and site walks with build teams and contractors, confirming delivery to required standard, schedule, and quality
- Manage cross-functional dependencies across design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and network teams, maintaining integrated readiness schedules
- Report readiness status to DSX leadership with clear go/no-go positions and early risk visibility
- Drive issue resolution with build teams and suppliers; escalate blockers as needed
- Partner with Constructability, GPU Infrastructure, Integrated Field Assembly, Controls, Commissioning, and Network teams to ensure clean handovers
- Work with Strategic Operations on tools, data, and reporting for readiness tracking
- Capture and codify lessons learned to make readiness repeatable as the company scales
This is a hands-on role with real ownership. As more AI factories come online, the readiness process you build and improve will directly determine how quickly Volta converts powered buildings into live compute capacity. You will travel to sites across Europe and North America as required.
Requirements:
- Essential: Technical programme or project management experience on data centre delivery (hyperscale, colocation, or AI infrastructure)
- Proven track record running site readiness, construction-to-deployment interfaces, or pre-commissioning work on live data centre projects at this level
- Working knowledge of data centre electrical and mechanical systems, including liquid cooling, and how build sequencing affects IT and network infrastructure deployment
- Strong experience with readiness gates, milestone tracking, integrated schedules, and dependency management
- Ability to hold contractors and internal teams to standard, schedule, and quality while maintaining constructive relationships
- Experience supporting high-density GPU deployments, ideally on NVIDIA platforms
- Clear, concise communication and reporting for senior leaders
- Willingness to travel to sites across Europe and North America
