Salary: USD 165,000 - 188,000 / annual

Muon Space, a LEO satellite constellation provider founded in 2021, is seeking a Technical Program Manager to drive cross-functional planning and execution for software programs. You will coordinate efforts across software, hardware, science, and product teams from early concept through launch, developing schedules, identifying risks, managing resources, and ensuring stakeholder alignment. Key responsibilities include: defining program objectives and success criteria; building and maintaining project timelines with dependency tracking; identifying and mitigating risks early; facilitating collaboration across interdisciplinary teams; providing clear progress updates to leadership; optimizing workflows and implementing better practices; forecasting resource needs and supporting staffing decisions; and coordinating software releases with readiness tracking. You will work closely with engineering leaders to provide the structure and process discipline needed to scale development efforts while enabling fast, high-quality decisions in a complex environment. The role requires balancing multiple competing priorities, unblocking issues quickly, and maintaining clear communication across diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders. Required qualifications: BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent; 3+ years as a software engineer or technical role; 3+ years managing or coordinating software development projects; strong technical background in software development methods and tools; proven cross-functional leadership; and ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments. Nice-to-have experience includes aerospace/robotics/logistics domains, technical documentation review, Jira/Confluence proficiency, OKR frameworks, and distributed team environments. The position is hybrid, requiring three days per week on-site in San Jose.
