Mind Robotics is building Physical AI for real-world industrial deployment, starting with the factory floor. The company believes the hardest problems in AI are solved when researchers and engineers work hands-on with the physical world daily.
As Technical Program Manager for Software, you will own the integrated software program plan end-to-end—from roadmap planning through implementation, integration, validation, and release to the fleet. You will establish how software program management works at Mind, designing the planning rhythm that connects team-level work to org-level milestones, defining what qualifies as a milestone, and creating artifacts that support both individual engineers and leadership in prioritization and decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own the software program plan end-to-end with functional outcome ownership, not just schedule ownership
- Establish program management practices: planning rhythm, milestone definitions, "done" criteria, and decision-support artifacts
- Build software plans aligned with org-level milestones with clear completion definitions
- Monitor and report on key program metrics; communicate status, blockers, and risks to leadership
- Build the tracking layer that answers whether the program is on or off track using existing team systems
- Identify and escalate technical, dependency, and resourcing risks early; drive them to resolution
- Engage directly in architecture and design discussions at sufficient depth to stress-test engineering estimates and pressure-test readiness
- Partner directly with hardware program management to create one integrated program picture rather than competing ones
- Set the metabolic rate of partner teams by clearing roadblocks, closing stalled decisions, carrying risk upward, and protecting engineering focus
You will be an operational catalyst who owns outcomes and drives the trade-offs that keep engineering moving.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (software/computer science preferred) or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in technical program management for software products, ideally in robotics, autonomous systems, or domains where software ships against hardware with real-world deployment constraints
- Demonstrated success taking software from early development through release and sustained operation
- Strong software fundamentals with ability to engage meaningfully in architecture, planning, and systems integration discussions
- Experience managing programs spanning multiple interdependent software domains along with their dependencies on hardware revisions and test hardware availability
- High sense of urgency, comfortable with ambiguity, driven by engineering curiosity to understand how entire systems work
