Salary: USD 130,000 - 170,000 / annual

The Procurement Manager will lead the procurement function, supporting engineering and manufacturing teams with sourcing strategy development and execution. This role manages a team of buyers and serves as a critical bridge between the buying team and technical stakeholders, enabling effective execution while partnering on supplier selection, cost convergence, and supply network development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing, mentoring, and developing a team of buyers; setting priorities, balancing workloads, and ensuring the team has tools, training, and supplier context to execute purchase orders accurately and on time
- Partnering with Product Sourcing Engineers on supplier selection, cost targets, and make-vs-buy decisions, translating strategic sourcing direction into day-to-day procurement execution
- Coordinating with Product Sourcing Engineers during new product introduction (NPI) phases to ensure procurement timelines, supplier qualifications, and bill of materials (BOM) readiness support production ramp schedules
- Leading cross-functional projects to achieve cost, quality, and delivery targets
- Monitoring and reporting key performance indicators, surfacing risks and bottlenecks early
- Supporting engineering and manufacturing to determine best sources and validate supplier capabilities
- Identifying and executing cost reduction projects in collaboration with sourcing engineers and the buying team
- Negotiating commercial terms with suppliers
- Analyzing supplier data and identifying opportunities for expanding or consolidating the Approved Supplier List (ASL)
- Conducting research, benchmarking, and collecting market data to ensure a best-in-class supply base
- Placing purchase orders and resolving downstream issues with receiving, finance, and accounting
- Maintaining procurement-related master data in the ERP system
- Owning the procurement process cradle-to-grave, from sourcing through delivery and payment
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related discipline
- 5+ years of supply chain experience in progressive roles
- Experience with technical procurement
- Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Ability to read drawings and blueprints
- Exceptional analytical and organizational skills
- Familiarity with leading ERP systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience managing or leading a team of buyers or procurement professionals, with a track record of developing talent and driving team performance
- Experience partnering closely with sourcing engineers or technical stakeholders to execute supply chain strategy
- Deeper experience in strategic sourcing and supplier development, cost engineering and should-cost modeling, contract negotiation and commercial risk management, or NPI procurement support and BOM management
- Familiarity with procurement in a defense or highly regulated environment
- Experience working in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment
- Exposure to working in a fast-paced, start-up environment
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
