OpenAI's Enterprise team is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead the technical strategy and execution of AI-powered enterprise products and shared platform capabilities. This role bridges product, engineering, and customer needs to make ChatGPT, Codex, and future OpenAI products secure, scalable, and valuable for organizations.
You will drive technical strategy from design through implementation, launch, and iteration. Key responsibilities include translating enterprise customer requirements into actionable product priorities across AI workflows, agent experiences, integrations, identity, security, governance, and deployment. You'll partner with engineering teams to influence architectural direction and implementation tradeoffs across full-stack products, APIs, and platform systems.
The role requires representing diverse stakeholder needs—enterprise buyers, IT administrators, security teams, developers, and end users—in product and technical decisions. You'll identify adoption barriers, competitive gaps, and opportunities to simplify evaluation, purchase, deployment, and scaling of OpenAI products for organizations.
You will balance near-term customer commitments with long-term platform direction and responsible deployment. This includes coordinating enterprise launch readiness (security, operational requirements, escalation paths), driving cross-functional alignment across Product, Engineering, Security, Safety, Legal, Design, and GTM, and working directly with enterprise customers and design partners to understand deployment friction and turn recurring needs into scalable improvements.
Success is measured through enterprise activation, workflow quality, production readiness, sustained adoption, customer trust, and business impact. You'll improve execution through practical operating mechanisms, scalable tooling, and data-assisted workflows, while communicating program health, technical risks, and tradeoffs clearly to leadership.
Ideal candidates have a strong track record leading complex technical programs in enterprise software, cloud platforms, developer products, or AI systems. You should bring technical acumen across full-stack systems, client technologies, API development, scalable architecture, and enterprise integrations, with a proven ability to influence architectural decisions. Understanding of enterprise requirements (SSO, SCIM, RBAC, audit logging, data residency, compliance) and how enterprises evaluate, buy, deploy, and govern software is essential. Experience with enterprise software launches involving security, identity, compliance, or deployment readiness is preferred.
