Transfyr is building physical AI systems for scientific research—capturing real experimental work and converting it into machine-readable records that help teams learn from failures, transfer knowledge, train scientists, and provide grounded data for AI models and robots. The company has raised $25M in seed funding and collaborates with leading frontier AI labs and scientific institutions.
As Technical Program Manager, you will drive day-to-day execution and delivery of commercial programs and internal initiatives. You will connect cross-functional teams spanning Scientific Operations, AI/ML, software, perception, hardware, and business; translate strategic goals into clear milestones and ownership; manage budgets and dependencies; surface risks early; and ensure technical work stays aligned with customer and company outcomes.
Key responsibilities include designing executable programs by converting technical and commercial goals into workstreams, milestones, deliverables, budgets, and success metrics. You will drive day-to-day delivery by keeping owners aligned, decisions moving, and critical work on track across scientific, software, AI/ML, hardware, and operational teams. You will manage risks and dependencies by identifying technical, resource, budget, and schedule risks early and helping teams resolve tradeoffs. You will serve as the primary customer interface, building trust through clear communication, accurate documentation, and dependable follow-through.
You will develop sufficient technical context across domains to ask useful questions, expose mismatched assumptions, and help experts collaborate without adding bureaucratic overhead. You will translate delivery insights into product direction by capturing customer needs and repeated program friction as clear requirements. You will create operational clarity through plans, decision records, technical documentation, and program health views. You will improve tools and workflows, help teams adopt internal systems for experiments and data management, and build reusable program structures and templates. When needed, you will step into gaps—supporting scientific execution, hardware testing, data quality, or other urgent work.
This is not a passive project-management role. You will learn enough science and technology to ask hard questions, help resolve ambiguity, and do hands-on work when it moves the program forward. The role is in-person in Cambridge, MA, with travel to customer and partner sites as required.
