As Technical Program Manager, you will drive complex, cross-functional initiatives that turn Emerald's vision into reality. You'll coordinate software, infrastructure, and partner efforts to enable data centers to dynamically respond to grid conditions. This role sits at the center of execution, working across engineering, product, and operations to bring up new deployments, integrate with data center and utility environments, and deliver tightly coordinated programs with strategic partners like NVIDIA.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading technical programs with strategic partners, aligning roadmaps, milestones, and deliverables
- Breaking down complex initiatives into clear workstreams, timelines, and dependencies
- Translating requirements, constraints, and system designs across organizational boundaries
- Establishing and improving program management processes, tools, and operating rhythms
- Identifying and resolving cross-company risks, misalignments, and dependency gaps
- Supporting partner integrations, deployments, and technical collaborations
- Contributing to success metrics including deliverables, timelines, and outcomes
You'll work in a fast-moving, collaborative environment with world-class experts across AI, cloud, software, and energy. The role offers flexibility with 2 work-from-home days per week and the option to work from D.C., Boston, or the Bay Area.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum:
- 5+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, Engineering, or similar cross-functional roles
- Strong technical fluency with the ability to engage with engineers on architecture, systems, and tradeoffs
- Proven track record of delivering complex, cross-functional technical programs
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority
- Experience operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments (startup experience strongly preferred)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to balance execution with strategic thinking
Preferred:
- Background in software engineering, systems engineering, or technical operations
- Experience working with external partners, vendors, or ecosystem stakeholders on technical programs (e.g., NVIDIA, hyperscalers, OEMs)
- Experience working with AI infrastructure, data centers, or distributed systems, including familiarity with compute, networking, and/or power constraints
